The Junior SLYR Blaze combines the very best elements of flexibility, padding and design to deliver one of our finest models to date. Developed with a material based lower-backhand, it eliminates that typical latex “bunching” you see on so many gloves and fuses it with carefully placed silicone and latex elements within the upper, ensuring padding and protection without the compromise of comfort.
Removable Finger Spines
It also comes with 5 removable finger/thumb spines which effortlessly slide out via a hidden easy-access pouch. Giving you the freedom to remove them immediately if you’re not a fan of spines, keep them in if you are, or even slide just the one spine in if an injury ever creeps up.
Negative cut goalkeeper gloves (and hybrids that utilise this style) have become increasingly popular over the past years, particularly across Europe. They are similar to the flat cut in that they use a single piece of latex attached to the backhand via gussets, the key difference is that the stitching/gussets are inside the glove. This provides a much tighter and snug fit with control on the ball that is more “true” to your hand. Due to this, gloves utilising this type of cut will wear slightly quicker than roll finger for example.
The SLYR range debuts our all new X-Wrap Control™ system which wraps the latex around key palm and thumb touch points – this not only gives you additional latex and grip coverage on the edge of your hand, but also locks it into place giving a more secure and controlled feel. Additionally, the system has specific cuts within the wrap itself to deliver additional flexibility, ensuring secure and controlled doesn’t mean tight and restricted.
A Winning Latex
The latex featured on the Junior SLYR Blaze is our proven pro grade Contact latex, as used by all our pros right up to the English Premier League. It is an excellent latex in the dry and will also perform very well in the rain providing you towel off excess liquid like you typically would with any glove. If it can beat the English weather, you know it’s good.
Midsplit® Wrist Strap
When it comes to strapping in, our trademark Midsplit® strap system has you covered. It combines elements of a traditional latex strap with an elasticated mid, combining the best of both worlds. Latex fans have that classic feel to the construction while if you ever need that extra tightness, the mid based elastic insert delivers that.
